TEHRAN (NIPNA) — A senior petrochemical official said the administration supports domestic manufacturers of petroleum items and they are key developing petroleum and petrochemical industries.
Ali Mohammad Goudarzi, an advisor to deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, said the ministries of petroleum and industry, mine and trade support domestic manufacturers in line with the policies of Resistive Economy.
“The Domestic Production Act can be used as a functional executive lever for boosting cooperation of domestic developers with Iranian industries including the petrochemical sector,” said Goudarzi.
He said using the world’s state-of-the-art technologies puts Iranian industries among top industries, adding, “We must reach a level that we can turn savvy to wealth and institutionalize development strategies inside the country.”
The official said Iranian manufacturers supply up to 85% of the need of domestic industries for items.
He said Iranian manufacturers of parts need the trust of industries and many of the items that are being imported can be developed inside the country.
“It is justifiable to import certain strategic items that cannot be manufactured domestically, but for many other items that are being produced with high quality inside the country, there is no need for imports and excessive import of such items must be curbed,” he added.
